This is not yet finished...it is a rough draft, but it is 2:30am and I have to work tomorrow, so I'm leaving it unfinished. Will tweet later.
Have you ever heard of THE TERM "Breaking Through"? What does this mean?
To me, it means overcoming all the evil
that is trying to hold me back from communicating with God Himself. Communicating with GOD! This means telling Him everything. Then, listening... to what He says back to you. And, be ready to obey!
Now, how do you begin this
endeavor? First and foremost, spend TIME with Him: Sit in a quiet place and think about what He has done for you. Not what He has done for you today or yesterday or last year....think about ALL the things He has done for you. He created
the earth us to live on. He gave His son to cover our sins. He helps us constantly. This should put you in a pretty gratefull mood, right? Just bask in His presence.
What do I mean by bask? Let His presence consume
you. Take a deep breath and drew in His goodness. All the while, just try to wrap your head around the fact that God Himself is with you wherever you are at that moment. Consider what all this means. Be thankful and humble and
Also, worship Him. He deserves our worship. You might want to sing to Him or tell Him what He means to you.
We can not become close to Him if we do not spend time with Him. It's not possible! God is not
a short-cut God. If you love Him, you WILL spend time with Him. If you love Him, you will want to learn all you can about Him. You will study the Bible and other Christian materials. Every little thing you learn about Him will thrill
you, or should.
The more time you spend with Him, the easier you will be able to discern what He wants to say to you. That is why we listen, right - so we hear what he says?
To me, a break-through is like a revelation. Some
piece of information that makes you come alive with the knowledge of it. An internal assurance that He loves you and you can feel that love. An experience with Him that you can really relate to and apply to your life. It is something you
did not have before: information, feeling, assurance, experience. You feel as though you have broken through a brick wall to come to life on the other side; now you can see the reasoning, now you understand something you didn't understand before
in a very real way; you feel loved like never before.
We are in a spirtual war here on earth. We are not the only ones on this earth. There are many spirits fighting against us. To overcome this war, we need Jesus. We need to
be close to Jesus. We need to know Jesus.
We sometimes tie God's hands. He has His rules. Although this may not qualify as a rule, it is a revelation, to me anyway. It's one of those things you already know, but
was not exactly as clear as it is after you see the meaning.
How does prayer work? Why do our requests seem to be answered or answered more quickly when we pray and have others praying toward the same end.
Why doesn't God just answer
our prayers after, say, one prayer? (He does, of course, do this sometimes.) But why does He say "The fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much"?
How does "getting saved" benefit us? Of course, there the
part about going to Heaven. What a benefit that is, right? How does it benefit us while we are on earth? The answer is we have Jesus guiding us, protecting us, loving us, healing us, teaching us...the list goes on and on.
also have the devil and his underlings fighting against us. They are misleading us, attempting to hurt us physically and spiritually, hating us...that list goes on and on too.
Therefore, we are in a war. How can we win this war? How do we
come out victorious here on earth and live with God in Heaven forever after?
We pray. What does praying do? It breaks the strongholds evil has upon us. This evil spirits are strong but certainly not stronger than our Lord. We
need Him to break the strongholds. He does that by our untying His hands; we untie His hands by praying.
We are told to spend time with God, praying, communicating, studying, presenting requests for healing, intervention, understanding,
God is not demanding that we spend a certain amount of time with Him before He will give us "whatever". That's just not His style. He knows this needs to be done to break the strongholds. Whenever we are in prayer,
the devil and his spirits rise up against us - at first. But when they see we are determined to break through to God - they can not stand to be in His presence. God is much stronger!
